Eurasian Eagle Owl

The Eurasian eagle-owl is one of the largest owl species in the world, with a wingspan of nearly two metres.

It has prominent ear-tufts, and powerful feathered talons.

The Eurasian Eagle Owls occupy a variety of habitats, from coniferous forests to warm deserts. They also like rocky landscapes.

 

They can be found in North Africa, Europe, Asia, Middle East.

 

Eurasian Eagle Owls have a few hunting techniques, and they will catch prey on the ground or in full flight. They may hunt in forests, but they prefer open spaces.

 

Their diet consists mainly of mammals from shrews  to foxes and young deer. They also eat a wide range of birds, reptiles and amphibians.
